CLEA OUTSTANDING STUDENT AWARD — ONE AWARD PER SCHOOL
The CLEA Awards Committee is once again soliciting nominations for CLEA's Outstanding Student Award. CLEA created the award to honor one law student at each law school who has excelled in a clinical course. The award is given annually at the completion of the academic year.
The criteria for the award are:
Nomination & Selection Process:
The full-time clinical faculty at each law school with faculty who are members of CLEA are asked to nominate a single nominee from their law school. The clinical faculty should submit the name of that person along with a brief statement (no more than 500 words) of the reasons why that person meets the criteria for the award to the CLEA Awards Committee via email to email@example.com with the subject line: CLEA Student Award. The CLEA Awards Committee will issue an electronic certificate, and the clinical faculty can print and present the award at the law school's graduation ceremony or at some other appropriate time, as determined by the clinical faculty. Please allow up to one week to receive the electronic certificate before following up.
The faculty of a law school must agree on one recipient for the award. The only exception to this rule will be in instances where two students worked as a team on a single case or project, and each student's work was indistinguishable from the other's. In this case, the faculty should submit both students' names along with a statement (of 500 words or fewer) of the reasons why those two students should receive the award.
The deadline for nominations is May 31, 2017.
If you present the award at a graduation or other ceremony, please feel free to send pictures for posting on the CLEA website.
