Guide to transitioning to new membership tiers

For clinicians who are not already school bundle members

First, check here to see if your school already has a bundle, and if so, contact your bundle coordinator to be added to it.

If your school doesn't have a bundle, but there are several people involved in clinical instruction at your school, please consider switching to a school bundle membership to enjoy reduced membership dues and easier renewals. School bundle member dues are paid in a lump sum by one "bundle coordinator", priced in tiers based on the number of full-time clinical instructors at the school, starting at $150 for up to 5 instructors. You’ll need to pick someone (usually a clinic administrative assistant) to act as your school’s bundle coordinator.

To convert to a bundle membership:

1. Get individual memberships in order.

  • Ask all of your colleagues (including the designated bundle coordinator) to update their profiles and add their employment status. Members can log on at cleaweb.org.
  • Anyone who is not already a member can apply for a free introductory individual membership here.

2. Change to membership tier.

The designated bundle coordinator should log in at cleaweb.org and do the following:

  • Under My Profile, next to “Membership level,” click “Change."
  • Select the tier that corresponds to the number of full-time clinicians at your school (including externship directors/instructors and fellows), and “Next.”
  • Update/confirm your own information (especially the “Employment Status” field) and click “Update and Next.”

Note that everyone you list as involved in clinical instruction at your school, including adjunct and retired faculty, is a full voting member, even though the pricing is based only on the number of full-time instructors.

3. Complete payment. You can “Pay Online” or generate an invoice to submit to your institution for payment.

4. Ask us to bundle your members. Finally, to add all of your colleagues to the bundle, email us at membership@cleaweb.org and tell us who to group together. We'll take care of the rest!

If you have only one or two full-time clinical instructors, you can keep individual memberships at $50 per person.

  • If you log in and your membership level is "Individual Membership", you can simply click “Renew” as usual.
  • If you have an “Introductory (Free) Membership,” click "Change" to switch your membership to the regular Individual Membership.

For clinicians who are already part of a school bundle

When any member of a bundle logs in, they will see their bundle coordinator's name at the top of their profile. (If that person should no longer be the coordinator, email us at membership@cleaweb.org to change it.) The bundle coordinator should log in and do the following:

1. Update member info, including their Employment status: 

  • Log in, and scroll down in your profile to Bundle Summary.
  • To edit existing members' profiles, click on each member’s name: 
    • Click Edit Profile, add each member's Employment status, and click Save.
    •  To delete members who are no longer in your program, click “Archive” at the top of their profile. Former members who have been archived will appear crossed out in your Bundle Summary.
    • When done, click “Return to bundle list” at the top of the page.
  • To add new members, click “Add Member" under your Bundle Summary, add at least their name, email address, school, and employment status, and Save. They can complete the rest of their profile. (If they are already in the system as an individual member, email membership@cleaweb.org to ask us to add them to your bundle.)

2. Change to new membership tier:

  • Once your member list is complete under Part 1, count the number of full-time clinicians in your list.
  • Under My Profile, next to “Membership level,” click “Change.”
  • Select the tier that corresponds to the number of full-time clinicians at your school (including externship directors/instructors and fellows), and “Next.” Note that everyone you list as involved in clinical instruction at your school, including adjunct and retired faculty, is a full voting member, even though the pricing is based only on the number of full-time instructors. 
  • Confirm your profile information (especially the “Employment Status” field) and click “Update and Next.”

3. Complete payment:

  • IMPORTANT: If you paid for renewal over the summer, you will have a credit for your previous payment. When you get to the “Review and Confirm” page, don’t click “Pay Online” yet! Look in the lower right corner of the browser window for “Balance due” in blue, which should show your credit amount. Click on "membership change pending" below the credit amount to go to the payment screen. The Balance Due should now be adjusted to reflect your credit. Pay only this reduced amount.
  • If you have not paid since March 1, 2023, click "Pay Online," or click "Invoice" to obtain the invoice and submit for payment.
