THE UNIVERSITY OF BALTIMORE SCHOOL OF LAW will be hiring up to three junior or pre-tenure lateral faculty members to start in the 2022-23 academic year. Two are clinical positions: we seek a criminal defense clinician to create an in-house clinic, and we seek a social entrepreneurship clinician to complement our existing community development clinic. (The third position is doctrinal, for our innovative first-year program, which uses a small-section format to integrate a core 1L course like civ pro, torts, or criminal law, with our legal analysis and research course.)

Why Be a Clinician at University of Baltimore?

. . . . We have a deeply-rooted clinical pedagogy. We have a fellows program that has been a starting point for many of our community's bright stars. We are on a unitary tenure-track with our nonclinical colleagues, and we have support for scholarship. . . We meet weekly as clinicians to discuss teaching ideas, to share scholarship, and more. And as one of only two law schools in Maryland, we have deep ties to the Baltimore and Maryland public interest communities, judiciaries, legislature and more--which is why almost every clinic also has a significant community-based systemic reform project, like the human right to water project led by Prof. Jaime Lee, or the ongoing menstrual justice legislative and policy work led by Prof. Margaret Johnson.

    . . . .

    How to Apply

We are participating in the AALS FAR process, but candidates may also apply directly through our university portal, here.  More details on the positions and the application requirements are also included at this site:
